Belcher Baby Video: Dear Ezekiel
Just before Easter this year, our family was blessed by the arrival of our third child - Ezekiel. “Zeke,” as we’ll call him 😁
Each time we’ve discovered we’re pregnant, we’ve made a short video to document the earliest days of our kid’s life for them to watch one day. It’s a living letter from us to our child. Truthfully, this has gotten more difficult to make with the addition of each baby! And every time we’ve tried to do a few things differently to make each video unique.
For Zeke, he’s entering into the world not only with parents, but with two older siblings. That’s completely different than the experience our other two kids have had, so we decided to involve Malachi and Rosemary as much as we could in making Zeke’s video. I setup our podcast mic and interviewed our two kids, asking them to talk to the baby about a few things. That was really sweet. Malachi is a natural - I think I need to start a podcast with him! Of course, Rosie is barely two years old and didn’t have quite as much to say, but hearing her sweet little voice introduce herself to the baby gets me every time.
We have such a wonderful community to be thankful for - a physical and spiritual family who has invested so much into us. People have prayed for us, watched our kids, brought us food, laughed with us and cried with us. We share this video as a small “thank you” - to show the result of all that kindness to our family and invite our community into a few of our most treasured moments.
